“Do you do work outside of Westchester or is this your home and the limit to your vision?
Well, Westchester is my home market, but I do a lot of work outside of Westchester.
The first account I ever had back in 1998 was a national account. I had no idea how to work with that account by the way, but I learned that it was a tremendous opportunity for me. And many of my Westchester-based clients have offices in other other states.
So I’ve done business throughout the country. I enjoy it. My technique, if you will, or my preferred method is to hire a local partner that I trust in that market that we’re working in, whether it’s California, Florida, whatever it may be. Because I can’t duplicate my relationships and my understanding of the Westchester Market in California. It’s just a different market. Every little sub market is different. And I make sure that I build a team that understands my clients’ business needs and business objectives and rental parameters and so on. And I hire somebody in the local market who can be the Howard Greenberg of that market and bring me into the right relationships and the right properties that will work for my client.”
