Howard Greenberg Named One of Westchester/Fairfield’s Top Brokers By CoStar Group

Annual Industry-wide Recognition Bestowed on the ‘Best of the Best’ in Commercial Real Estate Brokerage
Howard Properties, Ltd. is pleased to announce that CoStar Group (Nasdaq:CSGP) has selected Howard E. Greenberg a CoStar Power Power Broker Award winner, for being the “best of the best” in commercial real estate brokerage. The annual recognition program, now in its eighth year, spotlights the U.S. firms and individual brokers who closed the highest transaction volume in commercial property sales and leases during the 2009 calendar year. All awards are based on transaction data in CoStar’s commercial real estate information database.

As the largest professional research organization serving the commercial real estate industry, CoStar is in a unique position to identify the top firms and brokers in each market. Every year, CoStar tallies the commercial real estate sales and lease transactions that closed during the previous year and presents CoStar Power Broker Awards to the select few who closed the highest transaction volume in commercial property sales and leases that year. Mr. Greenberg was measured against all the commercial real estate brokers active in the Westchester/Fairfield market and ranked based on overall leasing transaction volume for 2009 as reported by CoStar.

Howard E. Greenberg, President of Howard Properties, Ltd. said “This is a very special award in this particular year, when general leasing velocity was so low due to the economy. As a small boutique firm specializing in tenant representation, we had an excellent year helping our clients to leverage today’s market conditions to their advantage.”

“The Power Broker Awards are a true testament to the success of the ‘best of the best’ in commercial real estate,” said CEO Andrew C. Florance. “We are proud to recognize and congratulate all the award winners for their remarkable sales and leasing success.”

One of Mr. Greenberg’s most significant transactions in 2009 was the lease of an entire 148,191 SF building in Northern New Jersey to Cervalis, LLC for its third major Data Center in the tri-state area. Mr. Greenberg has represented Cervalis in all its real estate transactions since its founding in 2000.

Among Mr. Greenberg’s other noteworthy transactions in 2009 were: a 7,000 SF lease for ProTravel International in Harrison, New York; a 6,952 SF lease for law firm Knuckles, Komosinski & Elliott in Elmsford, New York; a 4,700 SF lease renewal for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation in White Plains, New York; a 3,900 SF lease renewal for Paragon Coffee Trading Co. in White Plains, New York; as well as other leases in New York City, Parsippany, New Jersey, and Red Bank, New Jersey.
